This short seated yoga sequence has been designed to practice before your chest physio session. By helping to improve your posture, spine and chest wall mobility, and breathing pattern, it has the potential to improve your airway clearance.

Exercises:

  • Sitting in chair
  • Upper back stretch
  • Cowface arms
  • Mountain arms
  • Seated side flexion
  • Spinal twist
  • Seated backbend/pec stretch

Pamela's tips for this session:
"In your relaxed sitting position, try and take a deep breath in... Now, sit up straight and take a deep breath in - you should feel you have greater capacity to breathe in deeply as your chest is more open. This practice is to help you get a better seated posture and more mobility through your spine and ribcage before you commence your airway clearance to help chest wall biomechanics."

I did this exercise sitting on the bed, witch I found a bit difficult, and can see where a chair will make the workout easier. will be doing this exercise next time on a chair.
